FAQ
FAQ
Where is the home house, how do I get there?
We are located about 1 mile outside of the village of Plumbridge, on a hillside overlooking the Glenelly Valley in the Sperrin mountains. Our postcode is BT79 8AL. We are 2.5 hours drive from Dublin, 1.5 hours from Belfast, 25 minutes from Derry and 20 minutes from Omagh.
Can I reach the home house by public transport?
Public transport is limited. You can use the route 92 bus to reach Plumbridge from Omagh, but you would still have to walk to the house which is located outside the village. Most guests either have a car or are cyclists. As the area is mountainous, e-bikes may be a better option for some. We are also located on the Eurovelo 1 trail.
Is there a safe place to leave my bicycle?
There are various options to leave your bicycle at the home house during your stay. Just ask us!
Is the home house pet friendly?
Yes, we love dogs especially! A large number of our guests travel with their canine companions. There are no extra charges for pets. We additionally provide a large dog bed and dedicated bowl for their comfort.
Is the home house located on a farm?
The home house is a rural farm stay, located in the Glenelly Valley and surrounded by working farmland. While the accommodation itself is for the private use of guests, there is occasional access through the yard to nearby fields and livestock. This is part of the character of staying in a genuine countryside location, and we always aim to ensure that any activity around the property remains respectful and non-intrusive.
Is the home house accessible for people with physical disabilities?
We have two floors. Beds and the bathroom are located upstairs. The living room, dining room, reading area and kitchen are located downstairs. There are steps on the porch to access the property. Unfortunately, this is an old traditional stone building, so it is difficult to improve accessibility without changing the character of the house.
Does the home house have a BBQ or fire pit?
We have a BBQ. Please ask us prior to your stay.
What type of bed sheets do you use at the home house?
We use cotton bedsheets for the upmost comfort.
Is it necessary to light the stove in order to heat the house and have hot water?
No. The home house has oil heating which heats the house and the hot water. The shower is electric, so you can have a hot shower even if the oil heating was not on.
What are the bedding and room arrangements?
We have two bedrooms, both upstairs. The king room features a king sized bed, an armchair, a coffee table and a sofa, which can also be used as a sofa bed. We also have a cot available on request. The second bedroom has two single beds and side tables.
Does the home house have a bathtub?
